Here's how it works

The challenge consists of two categories:

The 3-Peak Challenge consists of two categories: Collect all three peaks to earn the 3-Peak Badge, or climb the peaks as many times as possible and secure victory in the season standings by earning the most points.

Option A:

3 Peaks Challenge

Complete the following three peaks at least once:

  • Hauser Kaibling
  • Bärfallspitze
  • Höchstein

Upon successful completion, you'll receive the digital"3 Summits Challenge" badgein SummitLynx.

As a special reward, thefirst 50 successful participants will receive an exclusive “3 Summit Challenge” tote bag, which can be picked up in person at the ticket office at Hauser Kaibling. While supplies last!

Option B:

Points Challenge - Summer Hiking Hero

Throughout the season, you'll earn points with every check-in. Multiple climbs also count and are added to your total score.
Point Distribution:

Hauser Kaibling:10 points
Bärfallspitze:25 points
Höchstein:50 points

At the end of the season, the participants with the most points will be awarded prizes.

Important Information

  • Scoring is handled exclusively through SummitLynx.
  • Speed does not matter.
  • The competition does not determine who reaches the summits the fastest.
  • The only factor that matters is the number of points earned.
  • Multiple ascents are counted toward the points challenge.
Safety

Participation in the 3 Summit Challenge is at your own risk and responsibility. Participants are responsible for accurately assessing their physical fitness as well as current weather and trail conditions.

Please make sure to wear:
  • appropriate footwear and suitable gear
  • sufficient drinks and food
  • current weather forecasts
  • the official trail markers

Important Note Regarding the Höchstein

The Höchstein is located in alpine terrain and requires sure-footedness, a head for heights, and appropriate mountaineering experience.

The hike is not suitable for inexperienced hikers. In the event of thunderstorms, rain, fog, or other adverse weather conditions, climbing is strongly discouraged.

Hauser Kaibling Mountain Railways assumes no liability for accidents, damage, or other consequences arising in connection with participation in the Challenge.

Duration & Participation

The 3-Summit Challenge runs through October 4, 2026. You can join at any time during the summer season—just download the free SummitLynx app, sign up, and start hiking. All check-ins made during the promotion period will automatically be counted toward the respective leaderboard.

Yes, participation in the 3-Peak Challenge is free. Regular ticket prices apply for the ride on the mountain railway.

Yes, you can join at any time throughout the summer season through October 4, 2026.

There are two leaderboards: In the 3-Peak Leaderboard, you must reach all three peaks. For the Season Leaderboard, you earn points with every peak check-in—even multiple ascents count.

The challenge includes the Hauser Kaibling Gipfel, the Bärfallspitze, and the Höchstein.

An internet connection is recommended for check-in. However, the SummitLynx app can also save check-ins temporarily and sync them later.

Yes! If you reach all three peaks, you’ll receive the digital 3-Peak Badge. Plus, great prizes await the top participants in the season-long leaderboard, and the first successful finishers will receive an exclusive 3-Peak Challenge tote bag (while supplies last).
