Family Fun in Schladming-Dachstein

With more than 800 sheep, the Hauser Kaibling is a special summer mountain and the heart of Wollis Berg Welt. Along various themed and adventure trails, there are plenty of attractions for young and old alike: TheSCHAFsinn Loop Trail delights visitors with panoramic views and interactive stations, while the Children’s Adventure Trail features puzzles, marble runs, and motor skills activities.

A highlight is the petting zoo at 1,400 m above sea level, featuring sheep, lambs, ponies, and goats. At the SCHAFsinn Pond , water zorbing, a barefoot trail, “Schaferl-Springen” (sheep jumping), and other play and adventure stations provide fun and variety.

The offerings are complemented by playgrounds, downhill disc golf, paddle boats, paragliding, and cozy summer huts serving regional delicacies. NEW attractions on the Senderplateau, such as the SCHAFspielTurm, the observation deck with a slide, and the SCHAFsprungTurm, round out the experience.

The varied weekly program at Hauser Kaibling will delight families from July 4 through September 13, 2026, with activities such as water zorbing, creative arts and crafts for kids, and guided hikes through the mountains.

8-person gondola lift, upper station (intermediate station):

The first attractions are already waiting for you at the Bergstation (midway station) of the Hauser Kaibling 8-person gondola: A petting zoo, new marble runs and a marble maze, the SCHAFwerkstatt with food and drinks and kids’ crafts, as well as paddle boats, ensure plenty of fun and variety.

Our animals love to be petted

Petting Zoo

Open starting July 4 | Daily from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The petting zoo at Hauser Kaibling, at 1,424 meters above sea level, delights families and animal lovers with up-close encounters with animals in the heart of the mountains. Visitors can get up close and personal with sheep, goats, rabbits, mini pigs, donkeys, and ponies and pet them. This interactive station combines nature, relaxation, and a playful way to get to know the animals, inviting visitors to linger and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Our tip: Keepan eye out for our shepherd, who tends to the sheep all summer long.

Marble Fun for the Whole Family

NEW: Ball Maze & Ball Tracks

The new ball maze and exciting ball tracks near the 8-person gondola at the mountain station (midway station) offer children and families a playful experience that combines physical activity, creativity, and shared fun amidst the mountain scenery.

Fun and Adventure on the Water

Paddling Boats

Open starting July 4 | Daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Adventure seekers can glide skillfully across the water in paddle boats at Hauser Kaibling in large pools. With every turn of the hand crank , you set the pace and direction yourself—turning every ride into either a fun race or a leisurely cruise across the cool water. Whether alone or with a partner, these colorful boats provide children and families with splashing fun and unforgettable summer moments in the mountains.

Crafts for Kids 

at the SCHAFwerkstatt

July 4 through September 13, 2026 | Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. | Material fee: €7 per child. 

At the top station of the 8-person gondola, the SCHAFwerkstatt also awaits children . Here, they can craft, paint, play with clay, bake, and tinker to their heart’s content. Using materials like wood, wool, soap, and much more, they create little works of art that are not only fun but also make for lasting memories to take home.

The program at the SCHAFwerkstatt changes regularly, ensuring there are always new surprises. Children can freely explore their ideas and playfully discover different materials.

Note: The SCHAFwerkstatt is not a childcare service. We therefore ask accompanying adults to stay nearby during the creative sessions.

Kaiblinggrat Mountain Station (Sender Plateau):

At the top station of the Kaiblinggrat 8-seater chairlift on the Senderplateau, new attractions await the whole family: The SCHAFspielTurm, the observation deck with a slide, and the SCHAFsprungTurm offer fun, games, and adventure against a stunning panoramic backdrop. This is also the starting point for the varied downhill disc golf course.

NEW Attractions on the Senderplateau

At the Senderplateau , several highlights await for adventure and fun , including the new SCHAFspielTurm, the observation deck with a slide, and the SCHAFsprungTurm . The jumping tower, with its three platforms and large airbag, ensures safe and soft landings—even for the highest jumps.

 

Wild, funny, mysterious

Downhill Disc Golf

Open starting June 11 | Daily from 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Downhill disc golf at Hauser Kaibling calls for skill, accuracy, and fun. The varied course runs from the Kaiblinggrat mountain station (Senderplateau) to the mountain station of the 8-person gondola and combines outdoor activity with exciting recreational fun for the whole family.

The goal is to get the Frisbees into the designated baskets with as few throws as possible. Along the course, animal-themed puzzles and interactive stations provide additional entertainment and make every round a special experience for young and old alike. The necessary Frisbees and scorecards are conveniently available at the ticket office of the 8-person gondola’s valley station.

At the Kaiblingalm, families can enjoy a wide variety of activities: the Children’s Adventure Trail with play and motor skills stations, Woli’s marble runs, and the SCHAFsinn Pond with water zorbing and the SCHAFsinn Barefoot Trail ensure plenty of fun and exercise in nature. New highlights like the observation deck and Wollis’ Forest Trail make the mountain experience even more diverse.

Children's Adventure Trail

The Children’s Adventure Trail, which runs from the top station of the Kaiblinggrat 8-seater chairlift to the idyllic Kaiblingalm, features funskill-building andplay stationsfor the whole family. You’ll find creative marble runs, motor skills stations for climbing, balancing, and experimenting, and along the way, you’ll learn fun facts about sheep and their wool through play.

The trail is stroller-friendly and perfect for relaxing afternoons in nature. As the perfect finale, the idyllic SCHAFsinnTeich awaits, where you can linger and enjoy the peace and quiet. And if you’d like, you can round out the day at the cozy Kaiblingalm mountain hut with regional delicacies.

Open | Except for Water Zorbing

At the Kaiblingalm reservoir, the SCHAFsinnTeich offers a special nature experience for the whole family. On the SCHAFsinn barefoot trail, you can walk along the pond and feel the different surfaces—such as moss, gravel, and forest floor—and experience what our sheep feel under their hooves every day. Attention, little climbers: The SCHAF via ferrata invites you to balance your way across tree trunks, stilts, and rocks—all without a harness or carabiner. Other attractions , such as the “SCHAFerl Jump,” “SCHAF Whispers,” and cozy rest areas with views of the Dachstein Massif, round out the day.

Walking on water—without getting wet at all? That’s exactly what awaits you with Water Zorbing at Hauser Kaibling—a blast for young and old alike. Inside giant, transparent balls , you can stroll across the cool water and soak up the thrill of adventure. No special equipment needed—just a good attitude. Perfect for families, kids, and anyone looking for an extraordinary experience. After Water Zorbing, cozy rest areas, the playground, and the view of the Dachstein Massif invite you to take a moment to relax.

Even more fun playing at 1,800 meters above sea level!

Children's Playgrounds

The playgrounds at Hauser Kaibling offer you and your children adventure right in the heart of the mountains. At the top station of the 8-person gondola, the day begins with a huge sandbox complete with a sand conveyor system, a cool slide with a climbing wall, and a lovingly designed playhouse and art corner. Balance beams, small play stations, and a petting zoo with rabbits, ponies, goats, lambs, and mini pigs provide plenty of variety. More play options await you at the Kaiblinggrat & Tauern Cable Car mountain station—from motor skills stations, marble runs , and a panoramic double swing to stroller-friendly adventure trails and cozy terraces.

Water fun for the whole family!

NEW: Water Playground

at the Kaiblingalm mountain hut

Starting now, right next to the summer hut - the Kaiblingalm hut - there’s a very special treat waiting for our youngest guests: a new water playground surrounded by nature! Surrounded by lush alpine meadows and the impressive mountain panorama, children can splash, pump, and experiment to their hearts’ content.

Water can be channeled through wooden troughs and canals; at the Archimedes’ screw, it’s time to crank hard to transport the precious water upward - and at the end, little rubber ducks are waiting to race against the current. Whether alone, with siblings, or together with Mom and Dad: water fun for the whole family is guaranteed here. It’s the perfect spot for a refreshing break during the hike to the Kaiblingalm mountain hut.

Wollis Berg Welt ist das Familien-Erlebnisangebot am Hauser Kaibling verteilt auf mehrere Stationen: Streichelzoo, Kinder-Erlebnisweg, SCHAFsinnTeich und neue Attraktionen am Senderplateau und noch ganz vieles mehr.

Der Streichelzoo liegt auf 1.400 m Seehöhe an der Bergstation der 8er-Gondelbahn (Mittelstation) und beherbergt Schafe, Lämmer, Ponys und Ziegen.

Am SCHAFsinnTeich in der Kaiblingalm warten Water Zorbing, ein Barfußweg und das SCHAFerl-Springen sowie weitere Spiel- und Erlebnisstationen.

Am Senderplateau (Bergstation der 8er-Sesselbahn Kaiblinggrat) wurden der SCHAFspielTurm, eine Aussichtsplattform mit Rutsche und der SCHAFsprungTurm neu eröffnet. In der Kaiblingalm kamen zusätzlich eine Aussichtsplattform, der Wollis Waldweg und ein Wasserspielplatz dazu, an der Mittelstation ein Kugellabyrinth mit Kugelbahnen.

Der Kinder-Erlebnisweg in die Kaiblingalm begeistert mit Rätselstationen, Kugelbahnen und Motorik-Elementen für Kinder.

Mehr als 800 Schafe verbringen den Sommer auf den Almen des Hauser Kaibling.

Ja, vom 4. Juli bis 13. September 2026 gibt es ein abwechslungsreiches Wochenprogramm mit Water Zorbing, Kinderbasteln und geführten Wanderungen.
