Wednesdays: Hike with shepherd Franz

From 2 July 2025, shepherd Franz invites nature lovers of all ages to a special hike every Wednesday. On a leisurely walk around the Hauser Kaibling, he provides exciting insights into the lives of sheep and shepherds in the Alpine mountains.

Franz tells interesting facts about traditional pasture farming, the power of alpine herbs and the important role of animals in the mountains. The hike not only offers pure nature, but also real insider knowledge about life on the mountain pasture.

The meeting point is at 9.30 am at the Kaiblinggrat mountain station. The tour lasts around two hours, i.e. until around 11.30 am. It also takes place in bad weather - please remember to wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing.

Participation is free and ideal for families. Please book in advance!

Tuesdays: Sunrise hike with breakfast

From 1 July to 7 October 2025, it's time to get out of bed every Tuesday at around 04:00 and enjoy a sunrise tour including breakfast. It takes less than an hour to reach the summit (2,015 metres) and enjoy the breathtaking sunrise. With a bit of luck, you will see the large herd of sheep waking up on the summit plateau, a real goosebump moment for all nature lovers. Enveloped by the warm rays of the sun, you then head to the Kaiblingalm for a hearty alpine breakfast. All information on registration and prices can be found here.
