Gumpental round

Bike to Gumpental valley’s alm huts with only little difference in altitude. After an easy uphill by gondola, there is just one short uphill stretch, before you continue your bike ride straight on or downhill. The tour leads across the beautiful alm to Gumpental’s three cosy huts: Stanglalm, Schmiedhütte (with a flying fox across the pond), and Maierlalm. Well-fortified, bike back down via Ruperting to the Hauser Kaibling 8-seater gondola base station.

Length of the route: 12.6 km

Difference in altitude: 120 uphill metres and 817 downhill metres

Difficulty: easy

Krummholz tour

This is the perfect bike tour for exploring Hauser Kaibling, its popular tower area and the Kaiblingalm nature jewel. It takes about 1h45 from the 8-seater gondola base station. You could save your legs and take the gondola to the top station, where you really begin the bike ride. Take the white road up to the two cosy mountain restaurants near the tower. Another white road takes you to the Kaiblingalm nature jewel.

The Kaiblingalm hut with wonderful panoramic views is another great spot to take a break and stop for refreshments. Head back along the same trail. From the gondola top station, you can take the Kaibling Loop to the Styrian Bodensee Lake and from there back down to the valley, or you simply take the gondola down.

Length of the tour: 13.4 km

Difference in altitude: 440 uphill metres and 440 downhill metres

Difficulty: intermediate

Then, back on your bike, take the road across the Seewigtal via Ruperting to return to the 8-seater gondola base station.
