Investment Drive at Hauser Kaibling
results in approximately 16 percent growth in guest numbers
The consistent investment strategy at Hauser Kaibling is clearly paying off: Over the past two years, the Styrian ski resort has seen a 16 percent increase in visitors—equivalent to about 85,000 additional skiers. This clearly confirms that the extensive modernization efforts are a key driver of growth.
Over the past two years, a total of approximately 36 million euros has been invested in the comprehensive modernization measures at Hauser Kaibling. The focus was on two key infrastructure projects: in 2024, the new 8-seat chairlift “Kaiblinggrat” was built, followed in 2025 by the construction of the new 10-person gondola “Senderbahn Hauser Kaibling.” Both lifts replaced existing 4-seater chairlifts and have significantly enhanced the ski resort in terms of both quality and capacity. Greater comfort, modern technology, and noticeably shorter wait times immediately improve the guest experience—and have a direct impact on demand.
“We are very proud of this significant increase in guest numbers of around 16 percent, because it shows that our strategic investments are more than paying off, even in economically challenging times,” says Klaus Hofstätter, managing director of Hauser Kaibling. “It is particularly important to us that we have implemented these investments deliberately and under our own steam—as a clear commitment to the long-term development of our ski resort. Our goal is to offer guests a modern, comfortable, and family-friendly skiing experience—and the latest figures confirm that we’re on the right track,” says Hofstätter.
Quality-Assured Growth
Recent guest surveys show that these investments are sustainably increasing not only visitor numbers but also quality. With an overall satisfaction rating of 1.5, Hauser Kaibling is well above the Austrian average. Top scores are also achieved in the areas of comfort and modernity, while the recommendation rate of 72 percent is well above the national average. Another key driver of growth is the consistent expansion of the “
” family program. Over the past three years, this segment has grown by approximately 20 percent. Key factors behind this growth include targeted investments in experiential offerings for young guests, such as the 24,000-square-meter “Wollis Kids Park” at
near the valley station, the XXL Funslope—which has been expanded into one of Austria’s longest fun slopes—and the new Wollis Forest Trail, which has been adding to the resort’s appeal since 2026.
This development is underpinned by a balanced guest structure: Hauser Kaibling appeals equally to day visitors and multi-day guests. This balance strengthens the economic foundation and demonstrates that the ski resort is equally attractive to both the local population and vacationers.
Next Modernization Steps Planned
The investment drive is by no means over. Rather, it is part of a long-term quality strategy that positions Hauser Kaibling as a modern, snow-reliable winter sports destination and an attractive mountain experience for all seasons. Further measures—particularly in the areas of summer offerings, snow management, trail expansion, and infrastructure—are already in the planning stages.
