The Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area connects the four largest Styrian ski mountains: Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen, and Reiteralm. Two modern ski lifts in Schladming's interlinked 4 mountains

Two modern cable cars connect the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area, taking it to a new level of quality. Since last winter, “ski shuttling” between Hauser Kaibling and Planai has become even more convenient: On Hauser Kaibling, a 10-person gondola has replaced the former “Senderbahn,” and on Planai, the 8-person chairlift “Mitterhausalm I” has replaced the former Sonneckbahn.

123 km of ski runs

Largest ski area in Styria

Without having to take off your skis, you can ski over 123 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes at Hauser Kaibling and throughout the entire Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area—divided into 47.3 km of easy (blue), 67.3 km of intermediate (red), and 8.4 km of advanced (black) runs. This makes the ski area in the Schladming-Dachstein region equally suitable for beginners, families, and experienced skiers alike.

Families with children: Wollis Kids Park at the Hauser Kaibling valley station in Haus im Ennstal offers a platter lift and three magic carpets (two of which are free) across 24,000 m²—the perfect practice area for those first turns. Up on the mountain, the 1,460-meter-long XXL Funslope, featuring steep turns, tunnels, and jumps, provides extra fun for kids and the young at heart.

Athletic skiers: From the Hauser Kaibling summit—the highest point of the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area at 2,015 meters—the run descends down the eastern slope all the way to the valley. The FIS World Cup women’s downhill course is also a must for ambitious skiers.

Leisure skiers: Wide, quiet slopes like the Kaiblingalm and Höfi runs are ideal for relaxed runs with the family or leisurely days of enjoyment in the ski area.

State-of-the-art snowmaking systems, a robust infrastructure, and innovative technology make Hauser Kaibling one of Austria’s most snow-reliable ski resorts.

100% of the slopes in the ski resort can be covered with artificial snow - ensuring that the snowmaking system provides the highest-quality slopes in the Schladming-Dachstein region throughout the entire winter season, regardless of natural snow conditions. Under optimal conditions, the initial snowmaking process from the summit to the valley takes just three days. This is made possible by one of the most powerful snowmaking systems in Styria:

  • 236 snow guns, including 104 mobile snow guns, 78 mounted on towers, and 6 on a 10-meter-long swivel arm
  • Snow production: 6,000 m³ per hour - equivalent to about 600 truckloads of snow
  • 150,000 m³ in 24 hours - equivalent to about 15,000 truckloads of snow
  • 10 grooming machines (5 winch machines, 5 solo machines) and 4 additional machines for snowmaking and transport ensure perfectly groomed slopes
