Winter 2015/2016!

The Hauser Kaibling further upgrades its leisure offer. The gateway to Schladming’s four interlinked mountains delights its visitors with the most beautiful ski runs and new facilities

Styria’s Hauser Kaibling ski resort is the eastern gateway to Schladming’s four interlinked mountains with 123 kilometres of non-stop ski runs. In the 2015/16 winter season, skiing guests can look forward to the most beautiful ski runs, guaranteed parking and exciting new facilities: additional snow-making equipment and an environmentally friendly snowcat improve conditions. Keen partners provide their expertise to ensure top-notch ski huts, après-ski, and hotel industry. The event of the season will be on 13th February: an open-air concert with the Berlin cult band SEEED.

The most beautiful ski runs

The Hauser Kaibling ski runs enjoy a great reputation: in both 2010 and 2013, they were awarded Gold. Also, they have also received the Styrian Seal of Quality four times in a row.

Hauser Kaibling clearly knows the basis for every great ski run is the snow. When Mother Nature takes a rest, the powerful snow making facilities on the Hauser Kaibling step in and make the snow instead. In summer 2015, a further 14 units were added to the existing snow making equipment, so there are now the 217 snow makers can blow a basic snow cover within 72 hours, provided the temperatures behave. The water needed for snow making comes both from six reservoir lakes and a feed pipe from the river Enns.

With the snow in place, skilled drivers, with an innate feeling for the snow, groom with modern snowcats to create Hauser Kaibling’s beautiful ski runs. Night by night. In 2015, a flagship piece of equipment joined the fleet: a 4.5 ton snow groomer with a new emission-reduced AdBlue technology.

Gateway to Schladming’s four interlinked mountains

The Hauser Kaibling is the easternmost gateway to Schladming’s four interlinked mountains (Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen, Reiteralm). With 44 ski lifts and 123 kilometres of snow runs, these four make up the four largest Styrian ski resorts. The Schladming-Dachstein region is also member of ski amadé: 5 regions, 25 places, 760 kilometres of ski runs, all available on one single ski ticket.

“Get out of the car and hop on the gondola – our guests will ski rather than look for a parking space”, highlights Arthur Moser. To keep this promise, there is a large car park area available at the Hauser Kaibling gondola base station, right at the Ennstal main road B 320.

Mountain magic, après ski and top hotel

For the 14 Hauser Kaibling ski huts, your wish is their command. All of them spoil their guests with Styrian hospitality, table service, and typical regional food and drinks. In summer 2015, the Schoarlhütte hut was upgraded. Holding on to its rustic yet cosy flair, it now has a new bar with more room for guests to sit and, if they’d rather, stand.

Christian Steiner (Hotel Pichlmayrgut) and Christian Gappmayr (Posthotel Schladming) are the new tenants of the Arena Hauser Kaibling. Together with the Hauser Kaibling gondola lift, they aim to further develop the area around the base station, focussing on après ski. For the coming winter season, they’ll raise a new large umbrella and take to the slopes with a mobile party Alm.

In summer 2016, the Arena Hauser Kaibling will be newly built. And as for the hotel industry, the Nature and Wellnesshotel Höflehner****Superior hotel is heading for new dimensions. The first stage of an ample hotel upgrade has been completed, ready to head off into the new season with a fabulous new wellness area and the first Olympic-size swimming pool of the region, as well as a 300 m2 hotel lounge. Add to that the 28 new nature rooms and ten ample suites with more than 60 m2 living space each, the hotel can now welcome visitors to any of the 89 guest rooms.

Brand ambassador Thomas Sykora

“My private turns – including the ones taking me for a rest in one of the huts – I prefer making with my friends on the Kaibling, with its perfect slopes and an atmosphere that suits me well. It’s authentic and down-to-earth yet ultra-modern and sporty. The scenery, the skiing that welcomes snow lovers of all levels, it’s the whole package, and great for me as an athlete and as a father. And it’s why I feel at ease at Haus im Ennstal”, says Thomas Sykora, ORF expert and winner of nine World Cup slaloms, who has been a brand ambassador for the Hauser Kaibling since December 2014.

Audi Kinderland

Since last winter, the Audi Kinderland kids’ area at Kaiblingalm has been the favourite spot of many a little guest. Children charge between the slalom poles and show what they can do along the wave track. To make them feel like their role models, Marcel Hirscher, Anna Fenninger, or Thomas Sykora, they take to the track from a start hut similar to those at the World Cup races, and speed down a slope through poles and a finish arch just like in a World Cup. Kinderland was created in partnership with renowned German car producer, Audi.
