Winter in Schladming-Dachstein
It surely doesn’t get more wintry than this! The Schladming-Dachstein region, Styria’s pride in international winter sports, is one of “Austria’s top five ski regions”. In winter visitors can look forward to 223 kilometres of pistes, 109 of the latest lifts and 87 rustic ski lodges plus a great choice of après-ski establishments which all add up to boundless ski pleasure.
The heart of the ski region is the Schladminger 4-mountain interconnected ski region which links the well known ski mountains of Hauser Kaibling – Planai – Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. Each skiing mountain has its own special features and presents itself in the best light – but they all have one thing in common: they all offer a sublime skiing sensation and perfect winter fun!

It’s just the place for people who love a great choice of things to see and do!
The Schladming-Dachstein region is situated in the heart of Ski amadé. Austria’s biggest and best ski region – Ski amadé – has a big heart to match its impressive size. One ticket gives you a choice of 270 state-of-the-art lifts and 860 km of ski runs catering for all levels of difficulty. No other Alpine region is packed with such a wealth of skiing opportunities in such a compact space. Skiers will find that the high degree of snow reliability as well as the dense network of ski service centres, hire centres and ski schools will cause their hearts to beat a little faster.

The idea is to create a World Championships event that completely embodies the best features of Styria by being authentic, cordial and enjoyable. The focus is always on the typical “Styrian touch” – we regard ourselves as a modern, fresh and dynamic region with an affordable and fair range of tourist attractions.
This year Hauser Kaibling will be expanding its hi-tech snow-making operations and building a new summit cableway at 2,015 m above sea level. Also worth mentioning in this regard is the new, “Next Generation” McDonald’s family restaurant which will open at the valley terminal of the 8-seater-gondola lift.
Planai-Hochwurzen Cableways are building Styria’s first 8-seater chairlift this year. In addition to the new chairlift investments are also being made in widening the ski runs and in the snow-making facilities.
Reiteralm Cableways are also working on upgrades and improvements.
