Alpine World Ski Championships  2013 with a „Styrian touch“: authentic, cordial and enjoyable

The Austrian winter sport region  Schladming-Dachstein was host of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013, taking place from 4th to 17th of February. Preparation works for this major event included investments in the areas of hotel industry, infrastructure, and quality improvements around the interlinked 4 mountains  Hauser Kaibling - Planai – Hochwurzen - Reiteralm.

The World Championships fully corresponded to the characteristics of Styria : authentic, cordial and enjoyable, with the typical "Styrian touch" in the centre. We consider our region to be modern, fresh, and dynamic with a reasonable and fair tourist offer.

With 10 million Euro, the Hauser Kaibling invested more than ever in its history. In the Kaiblingalm area, a new 6seater chairlift was built, new snow making facilities were implemented, and ski runs were make wider.

The  Planai-Hochwurzen ski lift association,  invested in their car park, the service deck, and the "landmark" of the World Championships. The Reiteralm ski lifts as well had improvements carried out.
