Tours in the Ennstal valley

Reach the mountain top by gondola or by car

Not every mountain needs to be hiked. Some you can conquer by gondola or by car, and a few of them have just a short walk from the top of the gondola or the car park to reach the summit. If you don’t have the time or inclination for a long hike, this is the perfect solution.

The family walks in Styria’s Schladming-Dachstein region take you to ruggedly picturesque gorges and mountain lakes, to cultural sites and along nature trails. Look forward to an adventurous walk with your family.

Spring and water walks

These walks take you to the most beautiful waters of the Styrian mountains: gorges, upland moors, mountain torrents and lakes. National Geographic named the adventurous Wild Waters themed nature trail as the best hiking trail in the world.

Theme trails

The themed trails of Schladming-Dachstein bring together culinary art, history, and mysticism. There are special trails geared towards children, such as the Schafsinn loop trail on Hauser Kaibling. Meet the shepherd who lives for the summer with his flock of about 800 sheep and lambs, assisted by his Border Collie sheep dog. On the circular walk, children can learn all about sheep farming in the mountains.

But there’s something for everyone. Families will enjoy the is the easy part of the Schafsinn circular trail, which is even suitable for prams and pushchairs. Advanced walkers might like to take on the intermediate route.
