Helicopter Downhill Golf Trophy 2010
The Helicopter Downhill Golf Trophy is one of the toughest cross-country golf events in Europe.
At the third Helicopter Downhill Golf Trophy event on Hauser Kaibling the participants were playing on a course down the Krummholz World Cup slope. The site where stars of the international ski circuit usually hurtle down the valley in winter is converted into a unique 18-hole golf course for the Downhill Golf Trophy.
Weird and wonderful are perhaps the best words to describe the spectacular and unique golf tournament which had taken place on Hauser Kaibling on 4th of September 2010. 45 daring golfer were swinging their golf clubs at the craziest cross-country golf event in Austria. Each player was taken all the way up to the top of the mountain by a helicopter. In other words the 1st of 9 Flights and 18 holes was located up to 2.000 metre (2.187 yd). Even during the game the competitors were getting spoilt, because 3 hosts of Hauser Kaiblings huts were cooking typical traditional Austrian food for the hungry ones.
